New Random Pictures

Here are a few pictures a friend of ours took this past weekend (Thanks Jennifer)of our two beautiful daughters. Briley loves being a big sister and as you can see.....Mia loves her too. If Mia disappears in the house, you will find her laying on the bean bag in Briley's room while briley is doing homework or reading. We can't believe how much Mia has learned in such a short time here. She has adjusted better than we could have ever hoped for. I am confident that there are two reasons; #1 she was always meant to be in our home, #2 the wonderful nannies with Half the Sky Foundation had just started in her orphanage about the time she was abandoned. Too much to explain, but its apparent from the bonding to potty training. I have posted their link. It is amazing what they do for each child under their care. Definitely an organization to help support.

Easter and the beach

So we've been home a little over two months. At times we sit back and think how absolutely blessed we are with our two beautiful daughters. It is easy to see now that it has always been in God's plan for Mia to be with us. I've said it before but it really is true. It's not what we have done for Mia but what she has done for us. For those "waiting" or considering adoption, there is no difference in the love you will feel for your children received through adoption vs. bio children. Bio or adopted, they are the greatest blessings! Cindy also agrees that all the thoughts and fears she had of loving Mia as much as she loves Briley were ridiculous.

Everyday Mia is learning more English. She understands almost everything we say to her. She is doing much better going into Sunday school now, little or no crying when we leave. I guess she is starting to realize we are coming back. Cindy went back to work last week and that was difficult for her and Mia, however, they have both adjusted. We are very fortunate to have both grandma's to watch Mia when we are both working.
Barney is Mia's favorite show to watch, over and over and over.......... She has learned a lot from it and sings the songs all the time. We can't keep bananas in the house. She would eat them all day long if we let her. Oh and the popsicles, she doesn't like ice cream but loves the flavor ice. She is doing good with her glasses, it would be better if she had a nose to keep them up but she has no problem keeping them on.

Briley will have four permanent teeth and three baby teeth pulled out tomorrow (pray for her) in preparation for braces to fix up her grill. In all, everyone is doing good.

Random pictures

It's been a little while since I've updated so here are some random pics. Mia has a few Dr. appointments no big deal. She has hew glasses now and doesn't mind wearing them. She just doesn't have a nose to hold them up. We also got her ears pierced, she screamed for a few minutes but was done after that. Now she won't hesitate to show them off. She picks up new English everyday, and loves Barney. She is doing great and is an absolute blessing.

Here is a picture of Briley and Mia in the same dress around the same age. Cindy loved the dress and couldn't ever get rid of it.

Being her sweet little self.

She has to be like her big sister.

Don't ask me, some kind of suckers.

She loves to dress up.
